 Richard “Reif” Reifschneider was born December 18, 1940 in Chicago to Evelyn Reifschneider.  He died April 14, 2017 at his home in Buffalo Grove.

Richard enjoyed spending time with and cooking for his family.  He was an avid sports fan.  He was a terrific story teller, had a great sense of humor and loved to kid with his family.

Richard is survived by his children Doreen (Jim) Spizzirri and Richard II (Laura) Reifschneider, Kelly Wertz, Timothy (Cindy) Wertz, Jr.; his grandchildren Rachel, Christina and Jimmy Spizzirri, Richard III, Kayla and Ryan Reifschneider, Shaulene Stamper, Peter (Jessica), Avery Wertz, Elizabeth Wertz, and by his great granddaughter  Lauren Stamper; his sister Dee Dee (Curt) Rahn his nieces and nephews David and Christopher Rahn and Dawn Wells.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife Sharon L. (nee O’Sullivan) Reifschneider; his children Anthony Wertz and Cindy Wertz; his granddaughter Danielle Wertz; his brother Edwin Reifschneider and by his parents.

Funeral and interment services will be private.

  1. REIF WAS A VERY NICE MAN. HE LOVED MY BROTHERS LIKE SONS.

    He was a bright light. I am so sorry for his loss.
